Lamont Landers says the whole thing turned over shortly after his first appearance on The Bobby Bones Show. Questlove, the drummer for The Roots and the leader of Jimmy Fallon's band, reposted one of his covers. Producer Dave Cobb saw it, reached out, and signed him to his imprint, Lucile Records. Lamont tells Bobby he was not sure the call was even real at first, the way NFL prospects get pranked on draft night, and says it would have broken his heart if it had been a joke. It was not. Cobb flew Lamont and his manager out to Savannah, and Lamont says Dave changed his life. Lamont Landers is a soul and rock and roll artist from Decatur, Alabama, and he first came on the show after Bobby found him online.
