Amy's daughter brought up wanting to get a gun, and Amy's approach is training first: start with a gun safety class, learn everything about it, and decide from there. It's coming from a good place, her daughter just got her first apartment and wants to feel safe and able to take care of herself. Amy talks through her own awkward memory of getting a concealed-carry permit in North Carolina, why she'd start her daughter with things like a personal alarm and mace too, and how her dad, who's Air Force, can walk her through all the safety basics.
